Shining Mountain’s Annual Fund is the foundation of our yearly fundraising. The Annual Fund supports each year’s operating budget, over 80% of which goes towards faculty and staff pay and compensation. The Annual Fund begins in the late fall and wraps up in early spring. We ask that every family at Shining Mountain support the Annual Fund, in whatever amount they can give. Support of the Annual Fund allows us to provide generous levels of tuition assistance (over $400,000 per year), while maintaining a competitive salary and benefits package to our dedicated faculty and staff.
In the 2010-2011 school year, we achieved 100% participation in the Annual Fund from our parent body, faculty, staff, and Board of Trustees. In the 2011-2012 school year, we achieved 97% participation from our parent body, and 100% participation from our faculty, staff, and Board of Trustees. These high levels of participation reveal a strong commitment towards Shining Mountain Waldorf School.
Gifts to the Annual Fund can be made via check, credit card, and gifts of securities or stock. Payments can be made on a monthly or quarterly basis. All gifts to the Annual Fund must be received by June 30, prior to the close of each fiscal school year. Download an Annual Fund Envelope here. All gifts to the Annual Fund are tax deductible.
Colorado Child Care Tax Credit
The Colorado Child Care Tax Credit allows Annual Fund gifts to be directed towards the support of Shining Mountain’s early childhood program, offering an additional tax incentive to families. 50% of your donation to our early childhood program can be taken as a credit on Colorado state income taxes. For all Colorado Child Care Tax Credit gifts, please write “ SMWS Childcare Programs” on your check and “Colorado Child Care Tax Credit” on the memo line of the check.
