Monthly Tours for Parents Interested in Waldorf Education, Pre-K – 12. Adults only, please.
Our monthly tours begin with a presentation and discussion about Waldorf Education. We will visit a few classrooms, including the Kindergarten, grade school and middle school. The tour ends with a discussion lead by a High School Faculty member and two of our High School Honors students. Our School Tours are held once per month, (excluding the month of April) and begin in the Community House which is located just across the street from the lower school parking lot.

9:30 – 10:30: Kindergarten Experiential Morning
10:30 – 11:00: Early Childhood Education and Parent-Child Program Open House
Both events will begin in the Kindergarten classrooms and are open to parents and kindergarten ready children. The Kindergarten Experiential Morning will begin promptly at 9:30am and the doors will be closed once the experience begins. RSVP is required.

The Role of Teaching Thinking in the Waldorf High School
Please join us for an evening with our High School faculty to discover the role of teaching “thinking” in the Waldorf High School. All Shining Mountain parents are warmly invited and encouraged to attend!
The evening will include:
- An Introduction to the High School curriculum and unique educational offerings
- Vignettes from High School faculty highlighting the curriculum
- Discussion about the role of teaching thinking in the Waldorf High School
Friday, November 7, 2014: 8th Grade Shadow Day in the High School
The High School Open House will be followed up with a Shadow Day for 8th Grade Students in the High School on Friday, November 7th. In addition to all Shining Mountain 8th grade students participating in the Shadow Day, any interested 8th grade students from area schools are warmly invited. Parents of potential visiting 8th grade students must attend the High School Open House on Thursday, November 6th. RSVP for 8th Grade Shadow Day is required.

A magical experience for our youngest students. This experience is for Early Childhood, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Grade students.
Sunday, May 3rd, 2015 at 2 PM: Circus Performance
The Circus program at SMWS is a well-loved extracurricular activity for Middle School students. The semester long program culminates in a a public performance that you won’t want to miss! Please check the homepage of our website for online ticket sales in late April.
