At The Local for Our Annual Spring Fundraiser, March 25th from 6-10pm at Fado Irish Pub in Denver. All the DEETS you’ve been waiting for are here!
THE LOCAL

For centuries now, in every county in Ireland, the community has gathered at The Local Pub. It is where the community is celebrated, nourished and enriched. A welcoming place where warm and hearty food and drink are served. Where stories are told and music is made. The neighborhood gathering place is rarely called by its name. It is simply referred to as The Local.
THE VENUE

Fadó Irish Pub in Denver is a beautiful Irish-owned venue. Fadó  (pronounced f’doe) is an Irish term meaning ‘long ago’. It’s often used to start a story (the equivalent of ‘once upon a time’).  Look around the pub and you will see the unfolding of a tale: Ireland’s rich, vibrant and ever evolving pub culture. Fadó Irish Pub is the largest and most successful operating Irish pub in North America. Fadó is dedicated to an authentic yet high-end experience – from the “Perfect Pint” to the beautifully presented food. The interior is unmatched in Denver and imported entirely from Ireland.
THE WHY:  WHY NOT OUR GYM?
The cost of executing the event in the gym inclusive of labor and volunteer hours does not justify hosting the event on site. On-site setup, day of execution, and break down is a 3-4 day process. Classes and athletics schedules are disrupted and overtime staff hours are accumulated.

Due to a special relationship with Fadó Irish Pub in Denver, we are able to hire charter buses and be fully catered to in a beautiful venue with service staff for an overall cost that falls under the expense of hosting the event at the school.

Lower cash expenses AND investment of human resources = More Efficient Fundraising
More party AND less work = More Effective Celebration / Community Building

WHY THE INCREASE IN TICKET PRICE?

Most independent schools hold an annual benefit or auction that is a vital contribution to the annual fundraising campaign. In researching other well established K-12 independent and Waldorf schools, it was discovered that $75.00 is an average ticket cost for a similar event.
The $75.00 ticket price includes: transportation, hors d’oeuvres en route and at the event, open bar and entertainment.
The first 100 people to register will automatically be entered to win round trip Limousine transportation for eight people!
Tickets go on sale February 15th on our school website!
Registration for tickets also automatically registers you with our partnered auction site, BiddingForGood, which allows bidding in our online auction as soon as it opens!

THE HOW: HOW DOES A BOULDERITE TRAVEL TO THE LAND SOUTH OF ARAPAHOE?
By charter bus of course!
We are partnering with Grace Coach Lines of Lafayette, which is part of the Dakota Bus Service. DBS is a third-generation, family owned business, with a long-standing heritage of excellence and commitment to its customers. You will travel to Denver in comfort and ease while enjoying aperitifs and hors d’oeuvres enroute!
Upon picking up your registration packet, you will board the bus for a 5:15 pm departure from the school.  We will arrive at the venue at approximately 6pm.

The Return

The coach departure times from Denver will be staggered. The early bus will depart at 9pm and the late bus will depart at 10pm. (You can choose your departure time when you purchase your ticket online).
Parents can also choose to drive down to the event independently.  We will supply an access code for $5 parking directly in front of the venue.

Evening Menu

Our event menu is a prix fixe of heavy hors d’oeuvres both passed and placed in stations. Fadó  is working with us personally to customize a menu that accommodates our community’s diverse palate! The Open Bar Includes Fadó’s full draft and bottled beer portfolio in addition to wine and all non-alcoholic beverage options. Spirits will be available on a cash bar basis.

Event Entertainment!

The Grapevine Trio
We are delighted that three of Colorado’s most sought-after traditional Irish musicians will be a part of our evening festivities!  The Grapevine Trio featuring SMWS parent Jake Schepps, SMWS alumni Adam Agee, and Jon Sousa will be jammin’ jigs and reels in addition to their deftly composed originals.

Celtic Steps
Come and be dazzled by the athleticism and artistry of the dancers from the Celtic Steps!  All are National Irish Step Dance champions, including SMWS’s own August Plummer.

Q: Can I invite friends and family?
A: Absolutely! Friends can purchase tickets through accessing our school website and be registered for online bidding and raffles instantly.
Q: This year’s Spring Fundraiser is at an Irish Pub? I don’t drink.  Will there be options for me?
A: Fadó Irish Pub is also a full service restaurant so there are NA options. At Fadó, the food is the showcase!
Q: What do I wear?
A: It’s the Irish Pub! You can wear your favorite F.C. kit, or dress to the nines. Come as you are or don your favorite festive frock!
