Grandparents and Special People

Our Grandparents and Special Friends are so important to Shining Mountain. We welcome you to the class plays, festivals, assemblies, talks, and concerts and please know you can always stop by or call the Development Office (303-951-8583) for a personal tour or to learn more about this unique educational philosophy!

We host a Grandparent and Special Friend event each year and hope you can attend.  For the all school calendar, please click here.

Grandparent’s Day |Festival Hall and classrooms

Each year in October, we welcome our Grandparents and Special Friends into the classrooms to see first- hand what your grandchildren are doing in school. After spending some time in the classroom, you are invited into our Festival Hall for refreshments and an opportunity to hear from our faculty and see some of our students perform.

You are also welcome to come see our festivals.

Michaelmas Festival and Celebration

This is the largest festival of our school year, where you will see many of our classes perform and then head outside for an amazing performance and all school picnic, complete with a 10 foot dragon, live horse, and dragon bread!  Our Michaelmas Festival and Celebration is held in October.

May Day Festival

We welcome our Grandparents and Special Friends to join us for our May Day Festival. Please bring your dancing shoes as you will participate in our May Day Parade with music and singing, and join us in a community wide spiral dance around the Maypole!  This celebration takes place in early May.
