He has also been a running coach for first descents a nonprofit for marathon and half marathon training. “This in addition to working with youth has been the joy and passion of my life.”

Assistant Coach: Sherry Lewis-Ramirez

Sherry was first drawn to Waldorf education when visiting a Winter Fair at the Austin Waldorf School in 2009 with her husband and AWS alumnus, Benjamin Ramirez, and Mother-in-Law Ana Ramirez, a former long-time assistant in the kindergarten. Sherry found the Waldorf school there to be healing and inviting. She began to learn more about Waldorf education when she was expecting her first child in the same year. Prior to her interest in Waldorf education and having children she attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas where she ran on the Track and Cross Country Team and obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business and Communication Studies. She went through a one year Hatha Yoga Teacher Training program at Yoga Yoga and was teaching classes around town and at her home yoga studio, including children’s yoga. She completed the Pleiades Initiative Teacher Training in May of 2015. She has a passion for learning and a love for working with children. She began working as the Lower Grades Assistant in the Fall of 2015 at AWS; assisting in Kindergarten through 6th grades and substituting in Kindergarten through high school classes. Sherry moved to Lyons in mid-August of 2017 and is enjoying making her home in CO with her family – her husband, Ben, four-year-old Banyan and seven-year-old Lily. She finds it inspiring to see children loving to learn. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family exploring in nature, seeing family-friendly live music, cooking delicious, healthy meals, crafting and gardening.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Head Coach: Rob Reynard

Teach. Train. Inspire.
Head Coach Rob Reynard has been working under this philosophy for more than three decades in the sport of women’s volleyball. And while much has changed in that time frame, Reynard’s enthusiasm and energy in the training gym remains constant.
With experience across the entire spectrum of coaching, from Middle School, High School, Club and College, Coach Reynard has cultivated and fostered winning programs and competitive cultures wherever he has been.
A big personality on the sidelines coupled with a relentless desire to improve his players, teams, staff and himself has resulted in a personal philosophy that asks all involved for their very best, and then a little bit more than they all thought they could give.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Varsity Head Coach: Tim Crouthers

I am a sports, Ohio State Buckeyes, fanatic to my core! I grew up in Aurora, Colorado playing baseball, lacrosse, football, and primarily basketball. I graduated from Grandview High School in 2005 and from University of Colorado in 2009 with a BA in Psychology. I was fortunate enough to have minor participation in CU Athletics and my connections with the CU Women’s basketball team ultimately led me to Mike Hawkes. This relationship has proven ever fruitful in my coaching career, as I have followed Mike since. Shining Mountain has been an incredible athletic home the past 3 years as I have been the Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach. With the challenges to come in athletics and in life, I plan to give kids the tools to define and chase their own success on and off the court. I am honored to be selected and trusted as the Men’s Basketball Head Coach and I am thoroughly excited to continue the great tradition of excellence I have experienced at this school!
