Sarah Gillis
Aerospace Engineer, NASA Senior Advisor
Made history as a Lead Space Operations Engineer at SpaceX on the Polaris Dawn mission. She became the youngest person to complete a commercial spacewalk and the first human to play the violin in space.
Sarah Gillis is an American aerospace engineer, NASA Senior Advisor, and commercial astronaut who spent over a decade as a Lead Space Operations Engineer at SpaceX, where she managed the company’s astronaut training program for NASA and commercial crews. In September 2024, she made history as a mission specialist aboard the Polaris Dawn flight, where she became the youngest person ever to perform a spacewalk and, alongside teammate Anna Menon, set a record for the farthest distance any woman has traveled from Earth. A classically trained violinist, she also gained global recognition during the mission for playing the first-ever violin solo in space to raise money for childhood cancer research and music education.
Claudia Anata Hubiak
Executive Director at Boulder Ballet
Choreographer, dance educator, and executive director, she holds an MFA in dance performance and choreography from NYU at Tish.
Claudia Anata Hubiak is an American choreographer, dance educator, and director who currently serves as the Executive Director of Boulder Ballet, the same institution where she began her initial dance training. She holds a BFA in dance from UCSB and an MFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied on a full scholarship Dean’s Fellowship. In 2011, she founded the contemporary dance company The Anata Project, creating acclaimed works for both stage and screen, and later launched the Anata Wellness Outreach Program to bring dance, meditation, and somatic practices to schools. Throughout her career, she has been recognized with the CHIME choreography award, held numerous artist residencies across the country, and taught for prominent institutions like Alonzo King LINES Ballet and the San Francisco School of the Arts before returning to Colorado to lead Boulder Ballet’s growth.
Bryan Carruthers
Entrepreneur, Co-Founder, CEO
Successfully transitioned from his roots in civil engineering to become the entrepreneurial co-founder and CEO of the major project management consulting firm Answer Advisory.
Bryan Carruthers is an entrepreneur, executive, and civil engineer who serves as the co-founder and CEO of Answer Advisory, a project management consulting firm. A 2001 graduate of Shining Mountain Waldorf High School, he went on to earn a BS in Civil Engineering with a minor in Public Affairs from the Colorado School of Mines. Throughout his career, Carruthers has transitioned across various entrepreneurial endeavors—from construction project management and budget software to private equity partnerships. He currently resides in Austin, Texas, where he actively applies a community- and creativity-driven approach to business culture, drawing heavily on his Waldorf education backgrounds.
Amanda Sage
Visionary Painter, Educator, and Activist
Before mastering classical European painting techniques, Amanda Sage launched her very first art business as a teenager by selling hand-painted thrift store t-shirts and batik clothing to a boutique on the Boulder Hill.
Amanda Sage is an American visionary painter, educator, and activist who uses her art for spiritual and social transformation. After graduating from Boulder’s Shining Mountain Waldorf School in 1996, she completed a classical apprenticeship in Vienna under Michael Fuchs, mastering the Mischtechnik—an Old Masters’ method combining egg tempera and oil glazes. She spent a decade as an assistant to legendary fantastic realist Ernst Fuchs before co-founding the Vienna Academy of Visionary Art. Now based in Los Angeles and Colorado, Sage exhibits globally, teaches at the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors, and directs the “Vision Train” global creative community initiative.
