Boulder, CO, April 16, 2024 — Shining Mountain Waldorf School (SMWS) is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its new high school building with a community gathering on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM. Located just west of Broadway in North Boulder (at its new address of 1100 Violet Ave.), this event marks a momentous occasion not only for the SMWS’s 40th Anniversary Year but also as a symbol of the exciting transformation along the North Broadway corridor.
North Boulder is experiencing a renaissance, with the unveiling of Shining Mountain Waldorf School’s new high school building as just one piece of a larger revitalization. Alongside the school’s expansion, the neighborhood welcomes a new Boulder Public Library, the recent reconstruction of North Broadway, and the forthcoming relocation of the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art. These developments underscore North Boulder’s emergence as a hub of cultural and educational enrichment.

On Friday, May 10, Meg Gardner, High School Director, will open the doors of the new Shining Mountain Waldorf High School, inviting attendees to witness the culmination of years of vision, planning, and construction. The high school is currently offering a new, multi-year tuition incentive to attract more students to Shining Mountain Waldorf High School, making the school affordable for many more families.
Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the new state-of-the-art building, learn about the school’s unique educational philosophy, and connect with faculty and staff. Popsicles and snacks will be provided. SMWS welcomes current parents, students, alumni, and also extended community members from the neighborhood.
